According to a press release, Drei wants to retire the mobile phone discounters. To this end, Drei is launching an unbeatably low-cost offer and drawing on the discounters’ sales strategy.

For EUR 4.90 per month, the “up3 Smart Abo” tariff offers 50 GB data volume and 1,000 minutes/text messages – 11 GB EU roaming is also included. However, this offer is limited in time and is only valid during the start-up phase. After that, the same tariff comes to 9.90 euros per month.

You can only get this tariff in the corresponding up3 app—for iOS and Android—with eSIM, but you can also use a physical SIM card. This brings us back to the discounters, which rely on similar distribution.

Tariffs with more than 30 GB of data volume
The comparison platform durchblicker.at has determined Austria’s cheapest mobile phone tariffs. Only tariffs with more than 30 GB of data volume were used as a comparison criterion.
If available, annual tariffs can save you a few euros. Lower data consumption can save you a little less—for example, €3.90 per month with the “Spusu mini.” However, this only includes 1 GB of data.
